Step 1. Plan your meals
The first step is to plan your meals. I recommend doing this for the next two weeks to pay less shipping costs. When planning your meals, you can use the websites I suggested earlier. It's easy to find the specific recipes you're looking for on these sites. Remember to think healthy when planning them and remember to list the ingredients you need to make them.
Step 2. Check Inventory
This next step is to go through your kitchen and take an inventory of what you already have in stock. This can be a good time to clear out any expired items and replace them as needed or realize that you're not using a certain item. It can save you money by not buying things you already have and seeing what you still need to complement the meals you've planned.
Step 3. Make a grocery list
Compare the items you have after inventorying the ingredients in your recipes. Be specific with the ounces on your list if you need them for certain items. Some recipes may call for 16 ounces of condensed milk, and you want to make sure you're getting the right amount. Once on the site, you'll be able to make lists, but I find paper and pen easier as I'm constantly changing things up.
Step 4. Visit the website
In this example, I'll be talking about using Google Express, but you can choose to deliver your own groceries. I recommend Doorstep Grocery. So Google Express offers free shipping on your order as long as you meet the store minimum! This site also doesn't have the memberships that some delivery sites have. You can add items to the online list and bookmark them as you wish instead of a written list.
Step 5. Start shopping
To get started, you'll want to enter your zip code to see which stores offer delivery. What is offered depends on where you live. On the homepage, they display discounted items that you can check out first and add to your cart, broken down by category. So for my example, I chose Target. So you can shop by sale item, by category or by using the search bar. When shopping, the item's picture, price, review, and star rating are displayed. When you click on the item, you can scroll down and find similar items.
Step 6.Payment
It's time to pay. You will enter your address and phone number. You can then choose the date you want to ship. Then the payment method is filled in and then the billing address. You can then place an order and receive a confirmation.
